Payment Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

This Payment Policy explains how payments are accepted and processed for purchases made through pawspalace.shop.

Paws Palace is an online-only pet-supplies store based in France. By placing an order, you authorise the payment method selected at checkout to process the final order amount shown before payment is submitted.

Accepted Payment Methods

Depending on what is available at checkout, we may accept:

Visa
Mastercard
American Express
Other major credit cards
Major debit cards
PayPal
Apple Pay
Shop Pay
Other payment methods displayed at checkout

The payment methods available for your order may vary depending on your location, device, browser, order details, payment-provider settings, and Shopify checkout availability.

All available payment options are displayed during checkout.

When Payment Is Charged

Your payment method may be authorised or charged when you submit and confirm your order at checkout.

The final order amount may include:

Product prices
Applicable discounts
Shipping charges
Applicable taxes
Optional products or services selected during checkout

The total amount payable is shown before you complete your purchase.

Currency, Taxes, and Shipping

All prices on pawspalace.shop are displayed in euros (€) unless otherwise stated.

If your bank account or payment method uses another currency, your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may convert the transaction using its own exchange rate. Your provider may also charge a foreign-exchange or currency-conversion fee.

Applicable taxes are calculated and displayed at checkout based on the order details and delivery destination.

Our current shipping options are displayed at checkout and may include:

Free Shipping – 5–8 business days – Free
Express Shipping – 3–5 business days – €4.99

The final shipping option, delivery cost, and total order amount are displayed before payment is completed.

Secure Payment Processing

Payments are processed through Shopify and the payment providers made available at checkout.

Payment information is transmitted through secure connections. Paws Palace does not store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes on its own systems.

Payment providers may process your information according to their own terms, privacy policies, fraud-prevention systems, and security practices.

Payment Verification

For security purposes, orders may be subject to automated or manual payment verification.

We may review billing information, delivery information, payment authorisation, order details, and fraud or security indicators.

We may delay, refuse, or cancel an order if:

The payment cannot be verified
The transaction is declined
The order information is incomplete or inaccurate
Fraud is suspected
The payment method appears unauthorised
The billing or delivery information cannot be confirmed

If an order is cancelled after payment has been processed, the applicable amount will be refunded to the original payment method.

Declined Payments

A payment may be declined because of:

Incorrect billing details
Insufficient funds
An expired payment method
Bank restrictions
Fraud-prevention checks
Payment-provider issues
A mismatch between billing and checkout information

If your payment is declined, please review your payment details or contact your bank or payment provider. Paws Palace may not receive the full reason for every declined transaction.

Failed, Cancelled, and Refunded Orders

If an order fails, is cancelled, or is not accepted, we will not intentionally retain payment for the cancelled portion of the order.

A temporary authorisation may remain visible on your account until it is released by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.

Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method used at checkout unless you expressly agree to another method.

Refund timing depends on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, and billing cycle.

Payments related to returns, refunds, exchanges, or replacements are handled according to our Return & Refund Policy.

Returns and Refunds

For approved returns under the statutory right of withdrawal:

The cost of the least expensive standard delivery option is refundable where required by applicable law
Any additional charge for an upgraded delivery option, such as Express Shipping, may not be refundable beyond the cost of the standard delivery option
Direct return-shipping costs may be the customer's responsibility unless we confirm otherwise
Paws Palace does not charge a restocking fee for a valid statutory withdrawal

For confirmed damaged, defective, incomplete, incorrect, or materially misrepresented items, contact us before returning the item. We will provide appropriate instructions and will not require you to pay return costs where the issue is confirmed to be our responsibility.

Payment Disputes

If you believe a payment was made in error or have a concern about an order charge, contact us first at contact@pawspalace.shop so we can review the matter.

If a payment dispute or chargeback is opened, we may provide relevant order, payment, delivery, and communication records to the payment provider, card issuer, bank, or financial institution handling the dispute.

Price or Payment Errors

We make reasonable efforts to display accurate prices, discounts, taxes, delivery charges, and payment information.

If we discover an error affecting an order, we may contact you and offer the option to proceed with the corrected amount or cancel the affected order and refund any applicable payment.

Changes to Payment Methods

We may add, remove, or update payment methods and payment providers from time to time.

The payment options available at the time you place your order apply to that transaction.
